OwnerMaster Steven is the proud owner of the NJ TaeKwonDo & kickboxing Academy, purchased in 2005 from his mentor Grand Master Ye Bong Choi, a world renowned expert in TaeKwanDo (Korean Martial Arts).
At 40 years old, Master Steven ia a 6th Dan Black Belt in TaeKwonDo and a 4 time world champion kickboxer, having studied the arts for over 30 years – under the expert hand of Grand Master Y.B. Choi. He is an elite level martial artist with a lifetime of training and teaching experience. He started his training at the age of 4.
Through his dedicated training earned him a 1st Dan Black Belt by age 12. He began teaching classes shortly thereafter and completed as a member of Rutgers University’s Martial Art team when he was only 14 years old.
During his 30+ year martial arts career, Master Steven has participated in hundreds of tournaments including full contact Karate, TaeKwonDo, and kickboxing. His dynamic board-breaking techniques and tenacious sparring skills have generated more than 90 Championships and Tournament Grand Championships.
One year after opening the NJ TaeKwonDo & Kickboxing School in 2005, Master Steven started kickboxing. By October of 2006 he was asked to fight the person for the NJ state title, after the 3rd round knockout he earned the New Jersey State title. Right after that fight, he was challenged by the current world title holder for a fight. In November of 2006 he earned his first world title, following June 2007 he fought for the World Professional Kickboxing League (WPKL) and WKA titles. Taking a break from fighting in November 2007, Master Steven completed a specialized 13-week cardio, weights, and dietary program in preparation for the 2007 Eastern USA Bodybuilding, Fitness & Figure Championship. In his first every bodybuilding competition, Master Steven placed 5th in the Novice Middle-weight Division. Finally in May 2008, he fought for the WPKL World Title. After that third round knockout, he earned his fourth title.
In May 2016, Master Steven opened his second location in East Windsor to expand his knowledge of martial arts to children in other areas one year after that he decided to rename the school to NJ TaeKwonDo & Kickboxing.

Master Steven and his staff stay alert to the individual needs of each student and is able to guide students to their best efforts by helping them overcome their weaknesses and enhance their abilities.
